Outside Sales Representative

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced sales professional to join our growing team! In this position, you will be responsible for new business development and lead generation in effort to expand our client base. You will use a consultative approach to selling that establishes long-term relationships with clients. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong prospecting skills, a successful track record in B2B sales, and a customer-focused mentality. You will regularly meet with clients to position solutions that help manage energy spend related to electricity, natural gas, and energy efficiency strategies. Energy sales experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, uncover and develop a selling strategy to secure new businesses.
  • Hunt for opportunities with a primary focus on accounts that would qualify for Key Account Services.
  • Continuously develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects and potential clients.
  • Analyze and report customer positions and performances of commodity contracts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the new customer base and retain existing ones.
  • Input your sales activity and prospects/clients’ information regularly in our internal CRM.
  • Exceed sales goals on a consistent basis.

Requirements:

  • Create and implement a selling strategy that ensures you meet sales targets.
  • Increase market share by generating interest and demand for our commodity purchasing, energy efficiency and solar strategies.
  • Conduct calls and face-to-face meetings with clients and prospects daily.
  • Establish relationships with C-level leaders, expanding our footprint into large, strategic accounts.
  • Continuously generate new business opportunities to maintain a healthy pipeline.
  • Input your sales activity regularly into the company’s CRM software, and maintain clean and updated records for all leads and customers.
  • Coordinate with other members of the sales team and team leaders as needed to execute sales and provide excellent customer service.
  • Adhere to all company procedures, values and policies so that you provide an accurate representation of the company to all potential and current customers.

As such, we are looking for a Sales Enablement and Training Manager to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our staff, specifically in our sales teams.

Headquartered in Bedford, MA, we are one of the largest retail electricity and natural gas management firms operating in all competitive markets throughout the U.S. As a client-side energy broker/advisor, our clients know us for thinking progressively and acting responsibly, for putting their needs in front of ours, and for helping them manage risks associated with energy costs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive needs analysis to identify and assess current and future training needs with an emphasis on sales enablement.

  • Develop training content and design training curriculum, online courses, job aids, leader and participants guides, and other required coursework that accommodates adult learning styles.

  • Deliver instructor-led training; present content, administer activities and provide feedback to learners.

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and senior leaders to design, pilot, and launch end-to-end targeted learning experiences that are scalable, drive business impact and are aligned to our strategy.

  • Ensure new hires are trained and proficient in product knowledge, messaging, the competitive landscape, sales processes and tool adoption.

  • Implement leadership development programs that inspire and support the growth of managers and leaders at all levels.

  • Act as administrator of the Learning Management System (LMS); perform uploads, test e-learning courses, manage all tasks including communication with vendor, compiling reports and data and communicating performance metrics.

  • Develop relevant metrics to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and services. Drive continuous improvement to meet KPI targets.

  • Research and suggest additional tools as needed to optimize sales enablement activities and programs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of sales enablement and training experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of LMS tools.
  • Proven ability to run effective sales training, either live or virtually.
  • Data and analytically driven.
  • In depth understanding of the sales process and best practices in strategy development and execution.
  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, problem resolution, communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills required.
  • Excellent time management skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and manage expectations of all stakeholders.
  • Proven success as mentor/coach.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in Storyline Articulate and Adobe Creative Suite a plus!
  • Salesforce.com savvy a plus!
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, high-growth work environment.
  • Ability to travel as required to branch offices.
